Hurricane Erin Bears Down on East Coast, Forcing Beach Closures

Hurricane Erin is impacting the East Coast with dangerous conditions forcing the closure of popular beaches during the peak of summer. While not expected to make landfall, a state of emergency has still been declared for North Carolina’s Outer Banks. NBC’s Aaron Gilchrist reports for TODAY.
