White House confirms Trump fired CDC director after she refused to resign

During a press briefing, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that President Trump fired CDC Director Susan Monarez after she refused to resign. Leavitt added that Monarez "was not aligned" with the administration and a replacement would be announced soon.
